Keep the Luck of the Irish with Barry the Disco Leprechaun

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, and what could be more fun than having your very own Barry the Disco Leprechaun to help you celebrate? This little guy is guaranteed to keep the luck of the Irish with you all week long!

Barry is made from felt and measures about 18 inches tall. He has a green derby hat, a white beard, and a cheerful smile. His outfit is complete with a bright green vest and pants, and shiny black shoes.

To make Barry, you will need:

• Navy blue, hot pink, lime green, and white felt

• Sewing machine and thread

• Scissors

• Stuffing ( polyfil or foam balls)

Cut out the following pieces from navy blue felt: one body, one hat, one beard, two legs, and two shoes. Cut out the following pieces from hot pink felt: one heart, one pocket, and one bandanna. Cut out the following pieces from lime green felt: one pot of gold, one belt buckle, and two leaves.

  2 . Pin the hat to the top of the body so that the front is facing forward . Sew around the edge of the hat , leaving a small opening for stuffing . Turn right side out . Fill with stuffing until firm . Close up opening with needle and thread . 3 . Sew on beard just below chin , making sure to secure well so it doesn't fall off . 4 . Sew on legs at bottom of body , making sure they are even on both sides . 5 . Sew on shoes at bottom of legs . 6 . Cut a 3-inch piece from white felt and sew it onto center front of bandanna as a bow tie . 7 . Cut a 12-inch piece from hot pink felt and fold in half lengthwise , wrong sides together. Sew up each long edge , leaving a small opening for stuffing . Turn right side out through opening. Fill with stuffing until firm. Close up opening with needle and thread. 8 . Sew pocket onto front of heart shape , centering it between the top point and bottom point of heart shape as shown in photo .. 9 .. Sew pot of gold onto belt buckle as shown in photo .. 10 .. Referring to photo as a guide , hand sew leaves to top front corners of bandanna just under bow tie ….. 11 .. Lastly , sew on belt buckle to waistband of pants ….. And voila ! You have your very own Barry the Disco Leprechaun to help you celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style !
